Frampton had been due to fight in his home city of Belfast for the first time since 2015, despite weighing in one pound over the featherweight limit.
However, a statement from Cyclone Productions and the SSE Arena has now confirmed that the fight will not go ahead, although no details have been provided as to the nature or severity of the accident.
"Cyclone Promotions and The SSE Arena regret to announce that the "Return of The Jackal" event has been cancelled due to an accident to Andres Gutierrez," read the statement.
"It is hoped that the event will be re-scheduled but ticket holders are advised to retain their tickets and contact point of purchase for further information. We very much regret the inconvenience caused."
Promoter Barry McGuigan subsequently confirmed that Gutierrez had slipped in his shower, suffering concussion and a number of facial wounds.
"He slipped in the shower, smashed his face, the guy is concussed. He's a deep gash on his chin, his nose, lost two of his teeth," he told BBC Sport.
Frampton's failure to make the weight meant that the fight was no longer a WBC title eliminator for him.
