Sky and BT extend their agreements to broadcast live Premier League games for another three seasons.

Sky and BT Sport have been awarded the rights to continue broadcasting Premier League football games for another three seasons from 2019-20.

The networks have agreed to pay a combined sum of £4.464bn to screen games from the English top flight as the successful bidders for five out of seven live packages.

Bidding on the other two packages remains open, with technology firms including Amazon, Facebook, Twitter and Netflix rumoured to be considering tabling offers.

BT Sport landed the rights to broadcast 32 matches per season on a Saturday at 12.30pm.

Sky, meanwhile, will air 128 live games per season, including 32 matches on a Saturday at 5.30pm, marking a first for the broadcaster.
